A great twist on an old favourite children's pastime of tracing around their hand. This Halloween twist uses their hand and fingers to make their own personal creepy crawly spider wristband.
You will need:
• Black art paper
• Wiggle eyes
• Scrap of white paper (for fangs is required)
• Paper fastener
• Tape
• Scissors
• White crayon
• Glue
• Pencil
How to make your creep crawly spider wristband:
1. Fold black art paper in half.
2. With your child's hand palm down on the folded edge of the paper – so the thumb is not on the paper, trace around the fingers with the white crayon.
3. Cut around the traced outline of the fingers.
4. Unfold. You should have a spider with eight legs. Using the pencil, gently roll each of the back of each of the legs so that they curl under.
5. From the remaining black art paper cut a strip to form a small tube for the wristband. Size on the child making sure they can get it on and off and seal with tape..
6. Attach the bracelet to the underside center of the spider using the paper fastener and tape to smooth out.
7. Complete your spider by gluing on the wiggle eyes and fangs cut from the white paper scrap.
